Hello everyone..I just reintroduced daddy with momma and babies..he's constantly chasing her around to hump her and nowhe's sitting beside her in the nest and chirping really loud and constantly non stop..I'm really not sure if I should just leave them or should I interfere with this and consider putting him in another tank for a breatk..any suggestions would be great...thank you

Hello Sensuosa, how is the family doing now? I reckon daddy is a bit exited about the kids, "who moved into his house". I would just watch them carefully, if he acccepts the new situation it's ok, if not, you will have to take him out anyway. But I would not take him out and put him in and take him out and once again put him back in... it will just cause more stress for the whole family. One little fact, I think you should be aware of: female Degus can already conceive again the same day they have given birth. Meaning you possibly can reckon with another lot of babies in about 3 month. Are you planning to set up two groups by gender? I think for the long term, this would be the best solution, as "permanent" pregnancy is really demanding for the organism of the female and we unfortunately have seen females dying of it already. All the best for your Degu-family! Keep us up to date (Baby pictures more than welcome! )

I agree with Heddy, the best thing would be to keep an eye on the family. If you decide to keep the babies, single sex groups would be for the best. If you are planning to re-home the babies, maybe getting one of the parents neutered would be best.
