I have to say guys, the website and forum are getting amazingly popular! If you type degu into google, and search the .com version, the website is 4th on the list! keeping in mind that google ranks sites based on popularity, thats a pretty good rating! As for the forum, if you type in degu forum, we are top, and about 3 down for degu chat!!! This forum would never have been such an amazing success if it hadnt been for all the other people who continually come back here and share their knowledge! So a big thankyou to you all! meg

Well, I reckon it comes top cos it's the friendliest and it's obvious that everyone here really cares about the right way to care for and feed degus. When I first started to look for degu websites, either the info was cr*p or it was just encyclopoedic without a friendly face.
Because I teach computing, I tend not to compute in my leisure time, but I have to say that this site is gradually drawing me further into it's clutches... ;D

Shoot Meg, without you there would be no forum so thank YOU. It is a good place to come to learn about Degus. There is so little concrete information most of us are winging it from the very beginning. It's been very helpful to me as a first time Degu owner, to be able to discuss issues with people who have had Degus for a while now. I'm still in awe of the power of the internet. The ability to instantly go on line and "converse" with someone over seas.
roz - glad to see you here more often. You're obviously one of the knowlegeable Degu owners willing to share. For some, internet addiction is instantaneous for others it's more insidious. Glad you're being drawn into the clutches of the web.

Yay!! What more can I say?! Um, I'm addicted and I don't even have degus yet!! Seriously though, it's a great place to learn and there's no better way to learn than from people who have 'been there, done that' and who 'know their stuff' as it were. It's lovely to share others peoples' experiences and hear different ideas and tips etc. I especially enjoy seeing the pics as I don't have my own degus yet it's great to be able to gaze at other peoples' cuties!

Well done Meg, an excellent forum, I have to agree with the others this is definitely the best site I've been on for info. Lots of advice from people who care about their Degus rather than quoting from books, and it's nice to talk to people facing similar problems and joys with these little critters. If it hadn't been for this site I'd never have found Hermano and Cola whom Roz has Finaly allowed us to adopt as companions to our Merry, after his brothers tragic loss. Now not only do we now have 3 happy Degus but I've been inspired enough to start phase3 of the cage enlargement program. If only someone could invent Degu sized, and Degu proof, rotastak!
Keep up the work it's sites like this that make the world a degu friendlier place.

Hey Stoney, I'm with you on the rotastack wish! It's either hamster or ferret sizes - nothing for the in-between sized degu Wouldn't life be so much more fun for our little pals if they could have a maze of tubes to run around in and explore...maybe through this site we'll find some? (p.s - still missing my boys)
