Just noticed a bald patch on Daisy's neck under her mouth (her throat I guess then!). I found a thread from 2012 about a similar case but there was no outcome on it so unsure if it's something I should worry about or not. The skin doesn't look sore at all but also I don't see her biting on the cage that often for the fur to get rubbed away especially not in the throat area so it seems its either over grooming (which I also haven't noticed but guess I haven't been looking out for it) or some kind of health issue. I'll keep an eye on it anyway but anyone experienced anything similar? It just seems to be in a weird place. I just had a good look just now, got her to lie still and everything!! It looks like the hair is a little stubbly in some parts so whether that suggests its growing back or that its been broken off i dont know. Any advice or experiences would be appreciated xx

One of our old boys has a patch of baldness right below his chin. It has been that way for a year now, and there is no sign of skin irritation or of returning hair. I think it is an alopecia thing, in his case.

Rosie tends to get a patch beneath her neck which goes bald, but it really is hit and miss when it comes and goes...it is a mystery to me..I assume it must be over grooming by the cage mate
