Hello everyone!! I have had my little babies for almost a month now. Yes, I got them from P@H and I'm still unsure about their sex! Nacho is bigger, weighing 165g Rocco is the smaller one, weighing 155g Researching and looking at a lot of pictures online, I would think they are 2 boys... Nacho definitely is!!! They take turns humping each other, which I read is normal. Since last week Nacho has had his 'thingy' out during random times of the day, and today as he humped Rocco his 'thingy' was out and he would not stop chirping afterwards. First time I have seen him do that! It happened 3/4 times in a row... and Rocco (he was being humped) looked as if he had a drop of pee from his cone afterwards. As of yet I haven't seen Rocco with his 'thingy' out. Hope these pictures help. I really need to know! THANK YOU UN ADVANCE!!!

PS: I stopped by a vet close to my house to ask them for sexing advice. They said I should look online and didn't even offer to help since they said if they get bitten it would be a problem...

I would say both are males as both have this longitudinal skin fold between the anus and the urethral cone.

Here is a sexing guide:- www.degutopia.co.uk/degusexing.htmSince both your boys bits look the same and you know one is definitely a boy from his 'thingy', then I'd say they were boys too.

Thanks for the reassurance The whole mounting behaviour seems so extreme at times!

I agree the gap looks nice and clear in the bottom pic of Rocco, so I think you can relax.
The humping is completely normal, and it's far better that they consent and just get on with it, rather than fighting. They might settle down and do it a little less as they settle in and get more comfortable with each other, but they might not, or it might take until after puberty. Young goos suddenly have to establish their own group with its own dynamics and dominance as soon as they come away from whatever group they were in at the petshop, so it's quite common to have a lot of this type of behaviour early on. Our 3 girls boxed loads for about 4 months, and then everything seemed to get decided and they've been peaceful ever since.
