i think there too young to tell but when should i be worried about them haveing babies my goos their both 2 months old

Hi Mack, (it was me who replied to your fb message) did you manage to check the sexes yet? It's not necessarily mating, it could just be humping, which is a dominance behaviour, and nothing to worry about as long as they are the same sex.

lol yeah they look the same on the undercarriage they look like 2 males lol ill have that confirmed then i take them for their first vet appointment checkup

Mack123, all degus have what looks like a willie, so if you are looking at that as your means to determine gender, then you are being mislead. Have a look at this deguworld.proboards.com/thread/13070/degus and it will clear up any miscues.

how do i keep my degus from trying to mate ? If they are really boy and girl there would be no way to keep them from mating. It is just a natural thing. So it is better (necessary, indeed) to prevent and check their sexes. If you are unsure you can also post some good (clear) photos here and we will have a look together. Real attempts of mating are quite easy to determine and do look different from dominance signs or just relaxing one on top of the other.
