My name is Melissa, I'm a graphic designer originally from Zwolle, the Netherlands but I live in Birmingham, UK with my boyfriendos. I was starting to get a little lonely so my bf got me two lovely degu girls for Christmas called Apollo and Ereubus. We got them from the P@H and unfortunately they have missold us the infamous Thickets cage. Right now I'm in the process of building my own (well, process, let's say in the designing stage.
Ereubus is an agouti degu who loves the odd carrot and fresh food and Apollo is a blue degu who loves eating in general ;D They're both 15 weeks old and at the moment, they're still fighting over dominance. One day it's Apollo being the dominant one, the next day it's Ereubus ;D They're both on a mix of Degu pellets, bird seeds and dried rose petals (a hand full for both of them to share per day). I use porridge oats, fresh rosemary and basil, and the odd bit of carrot as treats, since I'm still doing some research on diets.
I let them out of their cage almost every night and they have the whole lounge for themselves. The lounge is completely degu proof since we just moved in a couple of months ago so it's still fairly empty. They love stuffing toiletpaper behind the radiator and climb the sofa so they can have a rest sitting on our heads.
Some may know me from the Degus International forum where I signed up a few weeks ago. So to broaden up my knowledge I thought I'd sign up for this forum as well ;D
