^^^^ Yeah that ive had german shepards and collies mostly but i have "worked" with most breeds. I know alot of people say shepards are unpredictable, but i like to say so are all dogs if you train them wrong, and ive never had a shepard bite But yea, if you can tell us about more then im sure you will get loads of ideas for breeds

Well I know that it will probably be around 3 years before I get a dog so I have a lot of time to think. I'd probably get a puppy and a kitten at the same time to get them to bond when they are young. But I'd have to think about a breed, I know my friend breeds collies on her farm - may get one of them. So exciting but I really need to focus on getting degus before I think of anything else! I'm rushing into things again!

You need to remember that collies are working dogs and require a lot more stimulus and exercise than other breeds.
Lrak, I don't believe in any breed being "bad" in my experience it's always been poor handling on the owners part. I love white GSDs but would never buy one from a breeder that focuses solely on the white variety, I'd always be wary of inbreeding in that case.
Personally I love mals and maybe one day, I'll get a Czechoslovakian wolfdog... If my training is up to it!

As I mentioned my friend breeds them they live in good condition. She doesn't do it to get a sole profit and she breeds her 2 of her collies once a year. All the puppies live in her house and she always keeps one. It is very sweet going to her house after her collie has had puppies, I'd happily spend my life on her farm - its brilliant.

@ Newtogoos, Yay some one else who sees it from the right point of veiw, i meet alot of people who tell me that this breed is "bad", that breed is "bad" and it really winds me up lol Collies do need a lot of work, but they are great, my boy picks up all his toys atleast twice a day and "rounds" them up into a pile

Lol tell me about it, people are starting to turn on akitas recently because there have been a few attacks on children. Strangely enough always when the parents have left them unsupervised and they could merrily pull tails and ears without them knowing! Collies are brilliant dogs, so much energy when they're young but not mental with it like boxers lol. I do like the fact that Samoyeds have been known to round children up in the garden... Could be useful in the future

Yea, but sadly its always the same, kid gets bit after pulling around an untrained dog and the dog gets the blame. makes me so mad

It's sad that that's never going to change though, I'm sure if we carried out the one strike and you're out policy on humans then it would cause an outrage. I do know of one extremely violent staffy round near my bfs who is allowed to roam free and tries to attack any dogs nearby. Nearly took Mason's nose off the other day

Yea but i tend to find that most staffy owners just want to look hard and will train the dogs to be like that.

Oh the owners are completely useless, just look at you like your stupid when you tell them to look after their dog. Staffies can be wonderful with the right training.

Its the ones that get the huge leather harness for them, like you really need it! I've used bailing twine, woven in to a coller, and for a lead when i found a stray and it was fine for a scared, semi-wild-ish dog so why do you need to wrap a dogin leather and spikes? Gerrrrr makes me mad.

My german shepherd's aren't bothered by my degus at all their heads go side to side when they squeak but that's it, you could always get other small furries, rats can be quite fun or rabbits they are good fun to have

Good news! Well for me anyway. I might be getting a rescue cat and one or two of her kittens! That's if I can persuade my mum. If I do get them though I will probably not let them go in the room the degus are in. Caution wise.

At least you know he's looking out for you all. Tia's started suddenly launching her nose at the bars if she's been in for longer than a minute so we've had to start keeping hold of her o.O

I think she thinks they'll make a tasty snack. After she does it though, they all line up in front of the cage and make their angry/territorial noises at her and she just looks so confused! I did say she probably thinks we're fattening them up for her as a christmas present!
