Hello, I'm doing research before adopting my little degus. I've been searching and reading the forum for the past few days and have decided to build my own cage Your cages are amazing!!!! I curently have 10 female rats in a double critter nation, and 4 male rats in a single. I don't breed. I also have 2 rabbits a male and female lop ear. (my male is fixed) I love the furry little guys. I also have 2 cats, 4 dogs and 2 Blue tong skinks I haven't chosen my degus yet and prefer to learn all I can before doing so. I don't want to buy from a pet shop and I'm curently speaking with a shelter that have a few for adoption. I'm not sure if i should get males or females. I have alot of questions that I'll be asking in the apropriate sections. This forum is amazing!! And I'm very excited to see that even though it's a world wide forum there are a few locals Happy to be here.

Helllo For a global forum it can be quiet odd...... I have found a few people that live literaly about 10 miles from me, not something you would expect if its world wide. Sounds like you love all your babies, Degus would be quite a nice addition! Good luck with checking them out first though - they tend to come with suprises!

Hello Rodentluv and WELCOME to the forum!!! Very glad to meet you, and to welcome another Canadian to the forum. This is a great place to learn about degus, as well as to have your questions answered before and after getting your babies. Lots of people can tell you that even though knowing lots before hand is great, there is always something about the hands on part that throws us for a loop here and there. LOL! Degus are great, and lots of fun. We will be very glad to help you out and answer your questions.

Welcome, welcome! Lovely to 'meet' you. I'll second the 'degus come with surprises'! You think you've read all you can and know a lot about them and then they arrive and it's a completely different ball game. Always fun though!
