Hello,
i've recently moved my degus into a cage and there are several wooden shleves inside. Degus being degus there peeing everywhere lol, can someone please advise what is safe to use to clean the wooden shelves. thank you lucy

I just use rodent spray, spray it on the shelf and wipe it with some tissue, doesn't stain my shelves or anything

You can also buy cheap ceramic tiles, (look in the clearance area of the store for what will work) and glue them or just lay them over the wood shelves. Ceramic is much easier to clean and will not absorb the odor of their wee. You can also use a half cup vinegar to a litre of water and wash them down with that.

I use white vinegar mixed with water in a spray bottle (about a quarter vinegar) and it works great.

i agree with DC, i use tiles in all my cages, for goo's and chins, and they work out really well xx
