Does anybody know where i can get a cheap multi teir cage from, my 2 degus, by the looks of it have had 2 male pups , which makes me sad because i would of kept them if they were female as jester has now been neutered. i was thinking could i keep jester and bailey and then the 2 boys in the same cage but seperated? surley its just like keeping 2 cages next to each other?? Ideas suggestions anybody?

That really depends on the size of the cage you have. If it is of an appropriate size to keep up to four degus in, then yes, it would be fine. If, however, it is really only good for two degus, it will not do. Degutopia has a cage calculator that you can put your information into, and there is another one . . . I'll have to look it up and see if I can find it and then include a link in here for you. FOUND IT! www.octodons.ch/rechner/?lang=en Also, Degutopia's calculator www.degutopia.co.uk/deguhouse.htmDegutopia tends to be more relaxed in their estimates for the number of degus that will fit happily in cages, and the other link requires much larger cages for the same number of degus. Somewhere inbetween is good . . . and larger is always better when it comes to degus. Am I making much sense? May have to modify this post. LOL
