I am looking fr a new wheel for my two girls. They have now been through 2 wheels....the giant rollys from pets at home. The axle seems weak and either snaps or grinds away. Just wondering if people have any experience of them. They look similar to the wodent wheel. Do degus end up chewing the wodent? anyone who has had these for their degus. www.savic.be/orbital-large

Sorry haven't tried it. Mine are chewing their wheel to bits and I need a new one too!! The one thing I'd be worried about with the orbital is the spokes - if one is on the wheel the others will try and get on too and I worry that they'd get hurt jumping on and off with those spokes. Also its plastic and I'm sure they'd eventually chew it!!

I've seen a hamster running on one of them and it got flown off the d**n thing, I wouldn't buy one of them personally. I have a wheel similar too this (although thinner) and it has been fine for me, they love it. I may actually buy one of them wheels as only one can go round mine and that looks thick enough for two go to round !

well i think all wheels apart from the metal john hopewell wheels have a slight risk, these plastic upright ones with spokes could cause degus to get knocked in the face whilst another degu runs on it, where in my experience because of the degus size it never has any trouble with the saucer wheel. i spose a small light hamster could go flying off it.
