Hey guys, was just wondering if this is OK for degus? I think it's OK for rats ... not sure, also if anyone knows is it OK for hamsters too?

YEP!!! One of the general favorites among members on the forum. I would say that finnacard is winning out as it grows in popularity. Mostly because it is reasonable, and works so very well. I don't recall anyone posting on here that they would never use it again once they've tried it. Most wouldn't change to anything else once they've started using finnacard. I just wish it were available here!!

So finnacard or megazorb? I'll compare prices and delivery/shipping and then pick which to buy

I think megazorb is cheaper if you can find an actual shop selling it, it's great for me as I can get it locally.

For me definitely finacard. I have tried megazorb and it has a particular smell to it that I really didn't like, turned my stomach a bit. Others have not noticed this smell so it's probably just me being super sensitive with smells. However it is also not as heavy as finacard so the degus tend to creat a bigger mess on the floor. Plus I found it more difficult to clean. With the finacard I can just grab handfulls of it from the degu cage during cleaning. And lastly for the same price you get more finacard.
However my roborovski hamsters preferred megazorb in their digging pit. Go figure!

I know this is a bit late and my apologies for bumping the thread, but as Cherpi asked about hamsters as well...
Both are fine for hamsters (and my degus love their Megazorb too), but personally I prefer Megazorb (for both) as its much, much more absorbent than Finacard (which is basically shredded cardboard) and keeps a cage smelling fresh for ages. It's said to be the most absorbent bedding available on the market - and I can see why. It's much better than Carefresh, but half the price. I usually get mine from Bunny Bazaar or UK pet supplies. Both charge a reasonable price plus shipping and it comes in a huge bag, which lasts me ages. Finacard is still cheaper, of course (it was £13.99 inc delivery last time I checked), but then as I said it's just shredded cardboard.
Personally I like the smell of Megazorb, but that's just me and my animals certainly seem to love it. It's also very nice for padding out nests and digging around in - as my animals always remind me... and good at getting stuck in our long-haired cat's fur, but then its his own fault for sneaking in my room in the first place...
