Ive had my degus for...4 months now? and when i open the cage door to let them out i put my hands out so they can come out and they keep biting me / trying to pull my fingers in? They use to come out just fine when im wearing a certain robe they like to run straight up but when its my hands they just bite me?

What sort of bite is it though, are they trying to hurt you or is it just a hold? Nothing to worry about if it's just a hold, I'd say :-)

probably just a hold, but a really hard hold? they like stick their teeth in down to the bone and drag, it hurts but why do they do it? o.o

If they're hurting it's more than a hold, but perhaps they're doing it without knowing it hurts you...you should let them know it hurts, perhaps also delay letting them out when they do it and hopefully they will learn if they do it they don't get to go out and play. Other people might have other suggestions though, so don't start this yet :-)

For some reason mine have started biting as well. Mostly cinnamon. However I'm not unduly worried about it. I think she does it when she gets frustrated cause I haven't taken her out,or she hasn't had her treat yet. She'll grab my fingers are try to drag them into the cage. Other times I think it's cause they want me in the cage with them.

Personally I do think the degus hold a grudge I swear on it. I do notice that the biting increases if I haven't been showing them much attention. Even worse is when they start ignoring me! You'd think that I completely neglect them!

Degus DO hold grudges!! They are also very intelligent. They are quite capable of not liking a change in interactions with you and finding ways to take it out on you.
Last week I held Reepicheep for a while, the first time in a long time that he came out to visit. I was SO glad to see him for bit of snuggle and love time. (He's been prefering to stay in the cage, I think a little nervous about my kids) After that I help Snuggabug, who I see frequently. That little . . . bleep bleep . . . peed ALL OVER ME! And I don't mean just a bit here and there . . . within a 15 minute cuddle he peed over 10 times on me . . . and not just a drip or two, but enough to run down my clothing and drip on the floor!! I was DRENCHED in Snug urine, and finally decided I couldn't take anymore and put him away. It didn't occur to me until later that I had been holding Reep previous to Snug, and it had been such a long time since Snug scented Reep on me that maybe he was jealous and making sure EVERYONE knew that I belong to HIM and Him alone. He's NEVER peed on me like that before, and not since. Haven't held Reep since either, at least not yet. Anyhow, they have very developed opinions on things. LOL!
