Im sure im not the only one thats noticed how for the size of our furry friends they are amazingly strong. In a vain attempt to save the bottom of our doors ive been putting things infront of them - such as their carrier case and an old chewed wheel that had to be retired due to health and safety ;D my health their safety !!!! So there i am congratulating myself of saving the doors when to my amazement Squeek( who else) drags the wheel out of the way. So not to be out witted by a goo i put a heavy stone in the wheel which is on its side. He along with Bangers (already on the ASBO register) proceeds to half pull the wheel out of the way - i was astonished its about 3 times heavier than they are. So now we have two stubborn goos working in tandom to get to the "golden door" I think i am truelly blessed with stubborn goos ;D Anyone else have tag team stories to make me feel better

Do as suggested for saving edges of shelves in cages, get metal edging and put it at the base...they'd have a lot to lift to get past THAT :-)
I've been meaning to do so for ages, they can now get through the hole in my door they've made so I have to block it up before letting any out :-P

The same quilt that was recently . . . airated . . . by our three boys, was also greatly coveted for their "out of cage" nest. They used to take turns trying to pull it off the bed in the direction of their nest, which was under one of the bureaus. I would sit there watching and laughing as they would grab the edge that was hanging over the bed and then start tugging with all they had, LOL! They would sometimes pull together, and sometimes squabble over who's turn it was, but they would work hard to try and pull it off the bed. This is a KING sized quilt, LOL! But . . . sometimes to make them feel like their were making progress, I would loosen about 2 feet of quilt, pile it on the bed with just the tip hanging to the floor, and then watch while they celebrated their GREAT STRENGTH . . . until the loosened part was stretched out and there was no more progress. THE FRUSTRATION THEY EXPRESSED!? WOW! Didn't need a degu dictionary for those "words."
Not quite the same as the "tag team boulder removal and door destruction" team, but they did work 'almost' together many times.

I think we should put them in for the Olympics what a team they would make !! I laughed so much at the thought of the goos thinking they were winning with the quilt ahhhh bless them i can just imagine their faces when they realised it was not going to happen hee hee. Tonight i was on door patrol on the floor in the hall with a cup of tea (essential) and bubbles went for the kitchen door - so mum told him off and nudged him out of the way - instead of the back chat which i expected he jumped up onto my dressing gown (brown and slightly fluffy so i am mum goo with it on as they groom it : and nuzzled up to me and looked all cute - well they have obviously been working on tactics and d**n them it worked ;D Back to the drawing board for me on the discipline ha ha

Mine do a tag team with the bedding. If I'm giving them toilet paper as bedding I would hold the roll in between two fingers, then one would grab the end and take it down to the middle shelf. She would then proceed to pull as much toilet paper as possible (so that the toilet roll was rolling away in between my fingers). When she would get a pile at her feet she would shove it behind her when the other one would grab it and start sorting out the nest. First time I saw this I was so chuffed and proud of my little girls. Walked round with a smile on my face all day.
