i let my 4 goo's out in living room whilst i cleaned their cage, we finally caught 3 but couldn't find the other 1, finally found her under settee, my partner caught her she was a bit stressed i think, she started barking well i think she was barking, can someone tell why she did it, she stopped after a min or 2, i was worried but she's calmed down now.

She was probably just feeling a little distressed as she'd been away from sisters while you were trying to find her. The barking things isn't that unusual. One of my females is currently barking AT the TV because it's making weird noises (weird to her anyway!), lol. I'd love to see some pictures of your degus and their cage! I'm sure other members will second that as we love being nosey! lol

ah thanks for that, my mind is at rest now, we thought we had completely lost her lol, she was away from them a while, all back to norm this morning, yea ill sort some pics out, they don't keep still to take pics haha

Yeah, they will bark if something distresses them. For example, my degus cage is near the back door, and if the door is open Nutmeg will sometimes bark as she'll smell something she doesn't like. Also if we (my boyfriend and I) are playing a first person shooter on the xbox she'll bark at the gun noises!

lol, well she was stressed, all fine now mind, when the dog barks a German shepherd they scarp per, he makes me jump so you can imagine what it does to them, i was looking at them today god they'v grown in a week, they about 8 wks old no, only named 2 waiting for my partners little boy to come down and name the others, 2 are Thelma and Louise.
