Always 'play' fighting - Is this normal?

Hey!

We got some degus on Sat and this is the first time we have owned them. We have two little boys Alfie and Jasper, they always seem to be play fighting, now I have read that they are meant to do this but they are only about 10 weeks old (we were told). I've read so much conflicting stuff, some say they should be marking there dominance at this age and others don't? When they fight they are making the tweeting sound, squeaking sound ,'boxing' and mounting each other.

Just wanna make sure this is all ok, as i had a bad incident with some rats...

Yes that's all perfectly normal, don't worry.

Yes, it is, and you will see rather . . . determined humping in the months ahead . . . but it's all very "normal" degu behavior. They are rather odd little characters, so don't be shy of asking further questions, if you have more, or if you suddenly have more further down the road. We've all had them, all felt kind of strange about asking them, and all learned that degus are just strange! So ask anything! It will be well received. LOL!
