my smallest degu Manny is still not eating his nuggets, I dont think its a teeth health problem as hes still more than enthusiastic about other hard stuff like dried peas and corn, is there anything I can add to his nuggets to make them smell or taste more appetizing. maybe some kind of herb or spray.
I've never know an animal to be so fussy when I had rats they would gobble what ever I gave them before it hit the food bowl!

I would try a mix food. My degus wouldn't eat for a few days when I tried to switch them onto nuggets, so I gave in. Try Gertie Guinea Pig, Degu Xtra Vital or Degu Supreme Science. Mine get fed a mix of all three so they have things to choose from. You can feed them all of these as their main diet or as a part of their main diet if you still want to feed them nuggets. Gertie Guinea Pig is cheap and a favourite for mine.

I would just like to add that you can find the above foods for very reasonable prices on Amazon

Can I just say, I had the same problem with Olly, he'd eat everything else except his nuggets, then I realised it was because I was giving him too many treats (healthy treats may I add ;P) that he enjoyed so much. Obviously they taste better then the nuggets so instead of eating all of his din dins he'd jump up on my hand and expect some treats, which i stupidly gave him. But then I realized and stopped and now ALL of their food is gone by the time their second feeding comes.
Just a thought. Or maybe just change food.

I have also noticed that my goos would leave their nuggets in the hope of extra treats!! Now I fill the bowls with nuggets and try to only give treats when they empy the bowls, I say 'try' as sometimes they are just toooo cute and cheeky so I feel the need to treat them regardless xx they are too adorable sometimes to withhold goodies xx
Sorry I don't have any good practical advice but like cherpi said maybe it's something to think of. I hope you can solve your dilemma soon, good luck xx
