OK, as far as I can tell, at 3 weeks old, I'm fairly sure that Lilly has 6 boys and 2 girls. I'll check again in a few days to see if I still agree with my own results. I would feel horrible adopting them out and have people in shock like I was! I love those little pups! ;D I'm going to be heartbroken when they go Milly's pups are so tiny, they follow their big brothers and sisters everywhere! They seem much braver at a younger age. 3 more weeks, and the 1st litter can go. I was honestly hoping to have an odd # of boys/girls. One of the boys are to go with Willy to our nephew, and we were hoping to keep a little girl. I guess we'll have to see who's in Milly's litter, then figure things out. By the time litter #1 is ready, we should know the sexes of litter #2.

Laurie, after the babies arrived we quickly discovered how easy it is to sex them and it made us feel really stupid for not looking at our adult degus when we first brought them home. When we adopted the babies out we checked and double checked to make sure we weren't making a mistake! I had my handy photo to use for comparision and kept chanting to myself" Female close together....male far apart!
