Our degu (Scooby) has just jumped from shelf to shelf and missed, landing on the floor and his nose is bleeding. He has blood on his paws, we think this is from rubbing his nose and is making sneezing kind of noise. What can we do?

If it's an external cut, just wipe it with some tissue and get the worst of the blood off then wipe the cut with some warm saline (water with salt added) solution, either on a cotton bud or another bit of tissue.
If it's coming out of the nostrils, you'd be better off going to the vet's to make sure he's okay...esp. if he is having trouble breathing through his nose now (which may happen later when the blood clots)

Thanks for the replies.
Well the good news is he looks and is acting fine today, his usually naughty self! Decided to destroy the rope net in the cage all morning!! Will keep a eye on his nose/breathing.
Thanks again!

Degus are very clever at hiding illnesses and problems, so bear this in mind...he SOUNDS fine, which should be considered a good thing, but there's always a chance he's hiding something so rely more on his surroundings than him. If you see blood in the cage that wasn't there before, its a sign he needs to be checked out (by you, at least), and if he has any blood on his fur that wasn't there before, you know it's a sign :-)
I'd just keep a close eye on him and do a quick check of his surroundings every so often, it's probably just a precaution as he'll be fine...degus have lived through worse falls, my Loki (superman) is living proof of that with his fall from a 3rd floor balcony, you'll be glad to know he was back to his usual self within a short time and is 100% fine now except for a limp tail and a bump on his back (I assume his tail-bone was broken, not much I could do about it at the time)
