Hey, just wondered if anyone has experienced a degu with fur loss? One of my degus has a bald patch on his back, I thought maybe it could be that the other one has got carried away when grooming him. I know that animals can get bored and pull their fur out, but I don't see any way that they could be bored. They have a huge cage, with a variety of things to do and investigate. Does anyone know of any other reasons for fur loss? Obviously I am going to keep an eye on it and if it doesn't get better, I will make an appointment at the vets. Thanks for your time

Billy (RIP) had a bald patch across his back from Joe overgrooming him - it was like that for ages last year until it grew back earlier this year. It was fine once it grew back and it didn't seem to bother him at the time.

Dean has a bold patch and I have no idea where it's come from! He was like that when I brought him home and it's just starting to grow back now. It could have been a number of things with him, but I'm guessing he was bored in the 3ft tank they were keeping him in at the pet shop. If he's not bored, I'm guessing it's just overgrooming
