Okay, another quick wood question. I didn't see pecan trees listed on the toxic woods list. I was asking a friend who has some land if she has any apple trees, and she doesn't, but she has several pecan trees. So I'm assuming that using pecan branches will be okay? Is there a reason people seem to use apple branches in particular?

Well, I think we use them in particular because they are very safe. There are other woods, like birch, aspen, crabapple. I don't know about pecan. Plums, peaches, apricots, stone bearing fruits like those have quite high levels of cyanide in their bark, and are therefore not recommended. Pecan? I can tell you that my boys love to eat the nut itself! I'll have a look around the internet to see if I can turn anything up regarding this.

Thanks! They aren't on the toxic list, so I'm hoping they're okay.
