A tiny blad patch has appeared just above Stefan's nose. It's almost in the shape of a diamond and looks a little pink and sore. There's no cut or anything. Just a pink bald patch. Weird. I have no idea where it's come from, but I'm wondering if it's a common thing for Degus to just have a bald patch every now and then from either chewing the bars too much (maybe it could wear at the fur) or from fighting?
I'm just not sure if I should take him to the vets incase it's something else!?
I'll try to get a picture later.

Mine get this a lot, I think he has just been chewing the bars a bit too much.
Maybe keep an eye on it before you take him to a vet?

Yeah, it looks slightly pink, but it's not a cut or a scab. Just trying to gather opinions really! I'll keep an eye on it and if it seems any worse I'll take him to the vets.
After taking a closer look at the bigger boys, Dean has loads of tiny scabs under his neck! Poor thing. As they're scabs now, I'm not too worried, but I think they've been fighting a lot because of the babies, so once again, I'm going to have to move the babies cage away from theirs. There's never been any blood in the cage, so I wouldn't have had any idea about the scabs if I didn't check them over every now and then.

Rub your hand under his chin where the scabs are, try to get a feel for how it feels, and then feel him all over in the same way...you may find other scabs on his body and on the other boys. Learning to find the scabs by feel alone will be very useful, and it will alert you to scabs and cuts just from handling them sometimes when you aren't even trying to look for them. If the scab or cut is under the fur just rub the fur (gently, they don't like it) the wrong way and you'll see the skin below.
