I have an urgent request for any one who lives in the Stafford area, last night our Chinchilla managed to get out of the house, we still aren't sure how he did it, but if any one hears of a chin being found in the Fernwood area of Stafford, will they please let me know, thanks in anticipation, Mike.

I have some good news, I was able to catch him on Dec 30th. I put notices up in the area on the 27th and a lady phoned me on the 28th saying that the chin had run out from under her partners pickup when he started the engine. I went out through that night and saw him at 0230 the next morning. I phoned the lady to ask if we could put his cage in their back garden and to search the garden after dark, this we did, but didn't see him. However,on the way out, my fiancee saw him come out from under the pickup, then run back under it. After 30 minutes of me lying under the pickup and coaxing with several raisins, I was able get him in a position where I could catch him. It seems he had made himself at home in the engine compartment.

WOW!! I'm so glad it all came together to catch him! He was staying in an engine compartment? He's more than lucky he didn't get himself caught in one of the belts! Good for you, too, that you were so patiently persistent and caught him in the middle of the night as you did. What a good thing chins have such dense fur, as well. Is he all settled in his cage again, and showing signs of being happy to be home? Or does he miss all the night time freedom? LOL!
I am so glad and relieved that you have him back.
