ok, so ive been looking at zooplus for a few weeks now, adding everything i want to my favorites so im ready to get hubby (yes i said hubby as im not EVER online shopping again...lol) to order sometime next week.........BTW im getting so excited...lol anyway, ive been going through all different types of food, i want to get different mixes etc... when i was looking at the gerty guinea pig food as i remember lots of you use it, i noticed that on the front there is pictures of corn, bananas, oranges etc... this has confused me as i thought that degus wasnt aloud to eat fruit??? thats why im having such difficulties in finding food for them over here, most of the packets have some sort of fruit and corn contained in them... at the moment ive got a bag of food that im really not happy about using but i honestly couldnt find a better option. please can somebody help me............lol this is all so very confusing, i dont want to harm my boys but dont want to starve them either...lol

I've never used Gerty, but I was reading DeguTopia (who have trialed it) and saw this: "The inclusion of banana and orange does not mean the sugar content is increased; they are likely to be sugar-extracted pulps and therefore consist of mainly fibre. This feed is DOES NOT contain dried fruits"
The fibre for the feed is a bit low, so you need to (obviously) give them lots of Hay aswell.
Hope this helps, nuttz!
