Degus can tolerate up to 15% protein, so you are fine! I think you should give it a try.

Nature's bell: Probably bound with honey or similar, so no...confirm it's not before buying :-) Stuffed woodroll: Package states degu-safe (I have one in the baby's cage) but it does look like the stuffing is also bound with honey. I say look because I am trusting P@H that it isn't. Aromatic Crunchies: Definitely fine for them, all mine like them although some like the orange and some like the grey, it's weird. Also invest in this: www.petsathome.com/shop/woodlands-herb-and-veggie-goodies-50g-26369 (babies love the yellow stars, and the degus who don't tend to prefer the red ones instead because of the beetroot) As for dairy, it's not a 100% rule that they can't have it...my Theresa will eat a tiny piece of chocolate, she loves it, and that's got dairy in it...I obviously don't give her much chocolate or often because of the sugar content, but they definitely don't mind dairy too much (it was milk chocolate :-))

Thank you. I put the bell in but only for 20 minutes or so...and they didnt seem that bothered by it anyway to be honest. The woman in pets at home said theyr all safe....buuut as you say, i dont think she knew to be honest.
The wood rolls i put in this morning and they seem to like them. I will invest in those treats you suggested. i love tryin them with new things, but never know for sure what is ok and what isn. Yeah the boys loved those dairy drops. i think they were yoghurt drops but i stopped giving them. I think as a very rare treat its fine like most things.
Thank you once more, Ill try and find out about the bell and how theyr put together...

I've given mine the wood rolls with parsley before and they really enjoyed them. Never tried the carrot one though. There are no sugar based ingredients listed on the packaging so I think they are OK.
Not sure about the Nature's Bell - doesn't list ingredients on the website.
Pets at Home are an absolute nightmare though. When I was scouring for treats last time I got told 'anything for chinchillas will be fine'.....er no. They also had some P@H brand 'Chinchilla Calcium Sticks' which state on the front that they are suitable for Degus but then the ingredients lists honey.
I'd always double check the ingredients before buying anything marked for degus in there.
