Is hair dangerous for degus to eat? It's just when Pikachu jumps on me he sometimes climbs up to my shoulder and starts trying to eat my hair. It's actually quite difficult to pull it away from him Edit - by the way, I only mean if he manages to eat a bit before I get it off him. Obviously anything more would result in a hair ball.

My goos like sitting on my shoulder and often hide in and try to eat my hair - think they think its hay!

I wouldn't worry unless you LET him eat loads of you hair, lol. A little nibble (before you managed to get him off!) should be fine. Stefan likes to make nests in my hair a lot and he's ok Me on the other hand? Suffering with a lot of hair breakage! lol. Just a little funny: If I get my head to close to my rat's cage they grab my hair and try to pull my head through the bars! I'm like "It's attached, it's attached!" haha.

I have a picture in my head Amie of you being bodily pulled into the cage by your hair - very funny ;D Chilli will sit and suck my hair till its a wet string he has done this a couple of times sort of excessive grooming. Also if my hair is up - he pulls the pins out he gets really miffed if its up - he likes to hide in it and as said suck it strange what can i say !!
