I have been looking for a female chin, to live with my female and neutered male, and came across an add on preloved. one add said female for sale and another said female and cage. I asked about the chin and cage, and he said, she didn't come with a cage, but could sell me a male with a cage, i explained it needed to be a female, and i needed a cage so i could slowly introduce them. he said, can't you just put her with yours? It was pretty obvious he just wanted rid, and offered me all 3 chins, 2 females and an un=neutered male, which they had bought for breeding. Well, i don't want to get into having pregnant females, so said no, but he has posted a pic today, and omg, i;m totally torn know, as the conditions are terrible!!! uploads-preloved.com/uploads/userphotos/11/0105/2599111-756m.jpgwhat would others do?

Do you know a rescue centre near by you could take them to? That looks horrible... have you got a link to the actual ad? Are they up your way?

I looked at the image before I read and I thought "Jesus, what poor animals" it's such a shame some people don't know how to look after their animals.

I'd go get them and refuse to pay or take the cage o.o Then take them straight to a rescue centre if don't have room for them. Hope the picture was worse than what you find =( I'd be ashamed to post a picture if things ever got that far with any animals here =S (though thats not likely............)

ok, they are all here safe. Went to get 3 and came home with 4!
2 females, possibly pregnant, with a male, who will be separated tomorrow, and a single boy, who was put in with the trio, and the male attacked him, has ripped his ear, poor little mite.
The single male, is staying here with me, will be in quarantine, for the next 6-7 weeks, then i;m going to try and introduce him to my trio of boys, we have called him ollie,
The 2 girls and other male are going to live with my friend, on pregnancy watch, if they do have babies, we will pair a baby boy with the single male, then re-home them, well thats the plan, ask me, when its time to re=home them! lol
will post some pics tomorrow x

just a quick update, had a call from my friend, this morning, and the chins with her all have a fungal infection! The pic we saw, did look like they where kept in a garage which isn't good for chins, because if they get damp, their fur is so dense, it doesn't dry out and causes fungal to grow! I don't think ollie has it, but will be treated any way, along with my chins, just to be on the safe side. Luckily, he isn't in the same room as my chins, but its an airborn infection, so they could still get it. Will try and get some pics of ollie on here later, just got to find some batteries lol

Oh dear, these poor chins . They are very lucky to have been collected by you that's for sure! Bless little Ollie, I hope he doesn't have the fungal infection, I can imagine that would be very uncomfortable . Is the treatment for it simple? Looking forward to seeing pictures of the little man! Well done you for rescuing them, it sounds like they REALLY needed rescuing!

I would also make sure you buy some Virkon, F10 or Genie to wash the cages/ shelves daily with , it can also be used to 'airspray' the room as you leave.

just a quick update,
the lovely people (NOT) i got ollie, dandy, blossom and poppet from, is know advertising another male chin for sale, but the pic, of the chin has been pinched of a breeders site abroad!
Ollie has no signs of fungal, but the other 3 have, so they are well away from all my others. Dandy is going to be neutered, so he can then be put back in with blossom and poppet.
My friend, who bred chins for 15 years, has had a look at them, and thinks poppet is pregnant, but isn't sure about blossom, so if she is, she is only just pregnant xx

thanks hun, have contacted their previous owner, who told me he didn't realise they had fungal, and i asked him why he hadn't shown me the other chin, as chances where i would have taken him too, and he said his dad didn't want to let him go, but their new house isn't big enough for him, but when i picked the chins up, his dad was working on their new house, so surely he would have known if the house wasn't big enough? I think they just want the money, as when we where leaving the mom said, 'i better not show you my litter of yorkie pups, cause you;ll want one', i said, no thanks love, i;ve got 5 of my own dogs lol x

Glad to hear that these chinnies are safe and well, being looked after by you! Sounds like these people are only in it for the money, makes me mad. Animals are sentient ebings, not just a bit of fluff to do with what you want and sell to the highest bidder! Not only having chins with fungal, so mo medical care or attention, also yorkie pups to sell?! Makes me wonder what state these pups are in as well. Well, as they say karma will get them in the ned, and in the mean time these chins are save! Hope these 3 get better soon, and you better start counting days, 111 days for a pregnancy... let's hope she isnt!!
