Hi Guys i'm really hoping someone can help me with my poorly chin...
He was perfectly healthy up untill two days ago. I noticed he wasnt eating properly and was wiping his mouth a lot, so i assumed it was a teeth problem. But after letting him out for a run about he had a seizure. Now he is very lethargic and just not acting himself. Unfortunately because of bank holidays etc, i can't take him to the vet untill tomorrow. Does anyone have any clues as to what might be wrong, and what i can do in the mean time until i can get him to the vets?
Thanks guys! xxx

Has he eaten or had any water? I'm not a Chin owner but I would assume it is important to keep him warm and comfy, and give him some food and def make sure he has water.
I really hope he gets better, am thinking of you

Thanks guys, i've been giving him food and water by hand (he wont take it otherwise) and hopefully this will be enough to keep him happy untill the vets tomorrow

How did the vets go? Make sure you get some science recovery food for him to give him a extra boost, plenty of fresh hay he may require you feeding that to him too. Get some syringes in just in case. Hope it went well at the vets

Thats exactly what the vet said! I'll have a go at feeding him hay too if he can't do it himself. He's had his teeth clipped and he's recovering from the anaesthetic, little bit drowsy but looking much happier. I've also found out he has a heart mumur. Apparently its nothing to worry about, just something to keep an eye on. Thankyou for all the well wishes everyone!

The only thing is he's still grinding his teeth even though the vet said they are fine now. Maybe hes just got into a bad habit.

How experienced in chins is your vet, did they do a head x ray ? If hes still grinding his teeth hes more than likely still in pain . Is he eating on his own

Great news, he's completely back to normal now! He's on heart tablets (we found out he has a mumur) but now he's back to his cheeky old hungry self
