I went to my local pet shop yesterday, and they had a baby chin in. well i;ve never seen a baby one before, and fell madly in love.
Me and my daughter badgered my husband, and he gave in earlier today, but after thinking more about it, i didn't really want to go and line a pet shops pockets, so had a look on line, to see if i could see any babies.
Any way, i found a breeder, in the same area as me, and went round to have a look. My god, was i shocked. Like the rest of us, my animals are treated like royalty, and i;d go hungry first, before they would, but this guy bred chins, for showing, but there where loads, and i mean loads, of chins, in really small cages, no hay or bedding, just empty cages, with a single chin in, and they where outside, in a shed! I had decided to have a look, then tell him i;d let him know later, as i did not want to help fund his 'hobby' I then turned around, and there was this little black chin, with half her fur chewed, he said she had only started doing it that day, but it was obvious, she had been doing it for some time, he told me i could have her for nothing, as she was no use to him, so i agreed to take her, i then saw, a really small little chin, who looked really sorry for its self, he told me that its mother had attacked it that morning, and he didn't hold out much hope, so yes, you've guessed it, he came home with me. he is only 4 weeks old, and really should be with his mom until at least 10 weeks, but he has got some nasty wounds on his head and face and has a chunk missing out of his ear. i have taken him to my friend, who is a chin expert, as my local vet isn;t and shes filled me in on what i need to do, but luckily he is feeding really well, from a normal water bottle, so i;ve just given him his first milk feed, and he is know all snuggley and warm, with a full belly.
I am such a soft touch, but if any of you had seen him, you would have taken him home too xx
