I went in their today to buy my Goo's some nuggets and sand. They had 2 chins when I last went in and they've sold one so they have 1 left on her own!! She hasn't been handled and they didn't seem to know her age, just guessing that she was 3/4 months old. I asked why only one was sold and weren't they bonded etc ... she just kept saying I don't know!! I feel so awful for that poor little girl being kept on her own. How could they do that!!!!

I know, I've seen that too. It breaks my heart when I see the poor little Chin sitting there on its own. Pets at Home need to read some books for once. They sold me one degu that was blind, and another with organ failure. The only reason I buy from there is because I just feel bad leaving the poor babies there!

When I brought my babies, I bitterly said to the worker: "You know they should have a wheel, more toys, vitamin supplement and a sanbath" and he looked rather blankly at me.
P@H really need to learn something

Maybe we should start a petition requesting certain standards.

pets at home should stick to the basic pets like hamsters, and rats They get the needs of all their animals wrong, it's not just degus. Also, I wouldn't call them basic pets, no animal is "basic" - they all have complex requirements - they're simply more commonly kept than others.

In fact especially hamsters are often kept wrongly, because most keepers underestimate their needs. Also rats Take advantage from more space and bigger groups.
