Has anyone got experience with this?
I'm wondering whether chaco has this (I'm booking an appointment at the vets tomorrow) I mainly want to find out if anyone has checked/removed one. I have looked at videos etc.
He's not eating much at the minute and he doesn't seem to be drinking much either. He's always been grumpy since we got him but it seems to have gotten worse.
Any ideas? x

Vets tomorrow at 9.30. Going to check myself tonight though. I'll still post on here and let people with the problem (if there is one) know how to go about it.

Awww bless him, glad he's OK. I looked up about the hair ring, ouch, poor little chinchillas, looks nasty! I take it he didn't have that trouble?!

Thanks for the reply Kins. No he didn't thankfully. He checked his weight and its okay but he does need to start eating more. He did seem okay last night when he was out for a run.
The guy I saw seemed to know his stuff on chinchillas. He checked all around his mouth too and that's okay. Just glad he hasn't got hair ring.
I got him and Pabs lava ledges yesterday (a lovely manly purple and pink ;]) they love them.

Glad to hear that, poor little lad. That's the tricky things with smaller animals, their weight can fluctuate so easily if they are feeling slightly under the weather.
It's good to hear your vet seemed knowledgeable about the little furries. I asked my vet if they knew much about Degus, when I took our dog in the other week for his booster, and she said not really. She said they could probably do basic stuff but that I'd be better off finding a different vet who specialises more in small furries perhaps. I must try and do a bit of research and find somewhere local ish...just in case!
Aw bless them, a special treat, lucky boys!

Our vets are really good. I think the thing is to find a vet that knows the basics, but are willing to learn and research. For him to see Chaco is was just under 10pound. Which i think is cheap! Still good money for him though. Theres a few vets at this place. The only one i wouldnt see again was the lass. She was a bit rough with Pablo. I insist on holding them now. X

Our vets are very good with the dogs but I wouldn't take the goos there. That is very reasonable, I think sometimes it's any medication you need that can get pricey.
I don't blame you holding on to them, it is traumatic enough for them to go to the vets let alone them being handled by a stranger.
How is the little fluff ball this afternoon?

When Chaco had antibiotics they were only about £3.
Yeah, I didn't want to out him under any more stress...expecially with having his man bits looked at lol. Bless him. x

He's being strange, in a good way. Less grumpy actually and enjoying tickles a bit more. Hes eating okay, and drinking okay still keeping an eye on him. Thanks for asking

Awwww, sounds like he knows how worried you were and is saying 'thank you for looking after me'.
You're welcome. It's always nice to know other people care about your pets too as they are very imprtant members of the family.

Yeah it feels like he's saying that. Yeah, I love both my boys and my girls. Hopefully Chaco and Pablo will get on eventually even if it's just being out together at play time. Going to try in a couple of weeks after holidays I think. I wouldn't be fussed if they didn't. They are right next to each other so they can always talk, I know it's not the same but it's a lot better than what they had.
