Although my degu/chin mixnig has worked well so far, the difficulty of getting hold of degu-safe chin diets round here is getting worse so I've decided to split them again (plus my latest goo addition absolutely hates the chins!).
As they were matched originally to give both my chins company (they are brothers that no longer get along), this means my chins will be alone again.
So I'll be on the lookout for company. I am thinking males, to avoid the whole breeding/neutering issue (I have a dog undergoing veterinary investigation so can't spare the money at the moment for the ops).
Would I be better looking for younger males, or older? Same age? Both boys are 19 months old. Spank is very docile - Monkey though is quite feisty, it was him that started the fights between them. Spank never tried to stand up to him.

Some chins do accept a younger one easier but males do accept other males , as with any intro's you would need 2 cages side by side for however long it takes for them to accept one another but in 99% of cases they will eventually accept one another . If Monkey is feisty you would need to find a male that can stand up to him, whilst one always has to be the 'dominant' one a friend that could put him in his place would probably work best
