I let my chinchilla out of the cage for a run around the room as usual, however when I tried to get him back in he was running around really fast that he ran into the sofa which I think may have shook him up a bit. He seamed fine for a while but when I saw him the next morning he was lathargic lying on his side. He seams shattered and has not eaten anything for 2 days. He has had a bit of water but still seams drained and not able to run around like he used to. Thanks for any advice.

You need to get your chin to a chinchilla knowledgeable vet urgently , if he has not eaten for 2 days he could very easily go into gut stasis. If he is not eating then you can syringe feed to help . If you dont have any hand feeding products such as Supreme Science Recovery or Critical Care to hand or you can give him some ground pellets and add a little ( only a tiny amount) of apple baby food . See this link for excellent advice re hand feeding www.azure-chinchillas.co.uk/pages/feeding_sick_chinchillas.phpI would also treat him for shock, see the link for excellent advice www.azure-chinchillas.co.uk/pages/treating_chinchilla_shock.php However NO advice can replace the need for veterinary care so please please take your chin to a vet sooner rather than later as once the chins gut closes down they deteriorate and die very quickly Hope she is ok and please let us know how she gets on ((hugs))
