My neighbors just trimmed their Pomegranate tree, and have lots of wood for my degus to snack on. I've been looking online for any details regarding this wood and if it's ok for Degus to consume. Anyone have any thoughts? I've had no luck finding an answer.

I've tagged moletteuk as she's pretty good with toxicity questions.

OK, I've checked quite a few sources and I don't think I can say it's safe. The leaves are safe. The bark contains toxins and is used medicinally, so I can't say that is safe. The wood itself may be OK in certain quantities but probably not worth the effort of removing the bark. Small quantities of branches with bark and leaves might be OK in practice but it's not something I can recommend for others to try.
