It seems pretty obvious, but I thought it would be best to consult with others anyway. Is it fine to give degus 100% nut butter (like peanut, pecan, mixed nut etc), with no added sugar, sweeteners, oil, salt or preservatives?
I am looking for new things to give to Pulla, since he seems to be fed up with the recovery food I give him (to give him his medication and to supplement his diet since he seems to have an issue with keeping weight). I thought I could mix in some peanut butter or similar, or even just mix his medicine in a small amount of it. I don't really see any way in which this mught cause issues, since it's just roasted peanuts and nothing else at all. But I'd hate to be wrong.
So, with that, would this be alright?

Yes, if the nut is safe, the pure nut butter is fine too.

Great, mixing some peanut butter into his feed has been a great way to make it more enticing. It's been a lot easier to make sure he gets a small dose of painkiller nightly. Not sure if it's that or just a coincidence, or even just that he's eating more, but he has been energetic and spunky lately

I'm wondering if tahini would also be alright? It's just paste made from toasted sesame seeds and doesn't have salt or sugar, or anything else really (or at least the stuff I saw at the store today was just totally sesame seeds, nothing else). Don't know off-hand why it wouldn't be alright, since sesame seeds by themselves are fine.
Also got some dried dandelion root today, as a treat. I haven't yet seen what they'll think about them, since they haven't really gotten roots before.

I agree tahini with no additives will be fine. I think you should get a good reaction the the dandelion root!
