Since Sausage's dental visit in February, he's had a day of diarrhoea every week or two, including when I collected him from the surgery. Rebecca put it down to the GA, even though it's never happened before. With the occasional day, it's mostly just been a case of noticing that distinct smell on that particular day. One day had me cleaning his bum with warm water on a cotton pad, but it's just been soft poo that becomes matted, gone the next day, and forgotten. Until Sunday. That's when he came out in the evening, spent his usual half hour or so clambering over my cushion and me, but leaving a light brown slime trail and puddles behind him. Trip to see John and Charlotte yesterday, and they've kept him in because the current bout has left him very dehydrated. They also commented on the little lump on the side of his neck, which has been there since December, doesn't bother him, gave Rebecca no concerns in February, and hasn't changed at all. Turns out it's his lymph node/gland, so they're investigating why it's still swollen. Charlotte said she'd get some samples later to go to the lab, at which point I suggested she get her collection kit now, because he'd been leaving sample puddles all over the examination table (nice one, dude).
I'll keep you guys posted!

Oh no! Have you taken the pups in to keep him company?
Hope he feels better soon.

He just died.
Turns out the lump was an abscess, responding very well to ABs, tummy sorted. Came home Wednesday evening, very energetic. Friday, he kept sitting on me, but wouldn't take cc and had trouble eating the seeds. Saturday, he just sat on the heat pad. Looking at him, I found the vets hadn't done anything about his overgrown incisors, despite raising it several times in the Monday consultation. Gave him water via syringe, ABs, metacam, but he wouldn't take any cc. Emailed Rebecca immediately, as agreed. This morning, I found him rather cold behind the dust bath. Took him back to bed with me to warm up, gave water and ABs, then called the emergency vet. There was a new triage system through a practice in Winchester (very unsatisfactory), but eventually got through to my own surgery.
It was a tough decision, but they agreed we would have to risk sedation to cut the incisors because he couldn't even close his mouth. The brave dude came through that, and the staff said they'd keep him in to keep an eye on him and try to get him eating. Unfortunately, he's literally just stopped breathing.
I am so very angry! He shouldn't have had to suffer like this and I believe very strongly that, if his incisors had been sorted before coming home (as requested), this wouldn't have happened.

I'm so sorry, Bouncy. This sounds difficult to take in and fathom what and how this has happened. Poor Sausage xx

Thanks guys.
I'm angry because, having slept on it, I'm fairly certain I made a point of writing on the Monday treatment form myself that they needed to do something with his incisors. Certainly shouldn't have to pay out of hours rates for a dental! Going to head down there shortly.

The pups are missing him terribly. Sooty wouldn't come near me for 36hrs! When I got back from the vet on Monday, the two of them ran upstairs, and sat huddled together. When they came out later, Snatcha actually growled when I scratched his armpit!
The written complaint has been registered with the vet, and is under clinical review.

As the pups are still very young, would it be possible to introduce them to the others and have one big clan?

An accidental hello at the bars had Snoozy attack Sooty. Luckily, he was smart enough to run away. Snoozy was the one who turned on Sausage to begin with, after all!
I will be sorting out some company for them, though.
