I'm really sorry to hear that. Try to contact the vet as soon as possible and get her looked at. It's hard to say if anything can be done, but if there is anything to be done, it'll be by a vet.

Is there any way of getting her to a vet today, as a matter of urgency?

Yes.. The vet gave her some glucose, painkillers and again some medicine to help her with the pooping. It was my decision to let her stay at the vet at oxygen therapy where temperature is controlled too (he also said that we should keep her warm since she's a bit colder than normal) and stay overnight. Since I'm at school, i cant show any pictures, but my mom picked her up today and that's all i know so far, I'll update when i know more. Still glad that she made it through the night:)

You definitely did the right thing. You couldn't have done all of that at home.
Keep us posted.

You definitely did the right thing. You couldn't have done all of that at home. Keep us posted. The vet called my mom 10mins before her arrival. They said that during the night she got better, was asking for food (critical care), and died such sudden. We want to ask the vet if they do cuts, to examine from the inside to see what was wrong.also, they said her death was different than her sister. Plus the sister got stiff in about 2h,while milka is fully relaxed, and not stiff anywhere. Rest in peace Milka and Vanilla 💐 you will be missed by so much..

Oh no! I'm so very very sorry my love. You did all you could and it sounds like it was very sudden.
Rest in peace little Vanilla, Milka has saved you a space in the cosy degu pile. You will both be missed.

I'm sorry to hear this. It sounds like there was something going very wrong with them if they both died so close to each other. Rest in peace, little ones.

How are you bearing up love? hey... its been quite a long time since they both passed away. I'm doing better now, keeping and cuddling others degus as much as I can. It's so quiet when I used to see them all four run up to the gate to get some pats...but now the moms have became cuddly and i am teaching them some new tricks! they are not depressed as much as i thought they would be, so thats a good thing. I also minimized their food amount, because the vet said so yeah...used to get a half full bowl, now they get differ (sakura 7g, cookie and marshmallow 8g [since they are 205-215] while Canelle and Hugo are getting 3g because they have gained so much [15g] per two weeks! also they get treats in training, that are easily digestable. But I am doing better now, they have been buried together alongside Maja.

You aren't giving Canelle and Hugo enough food! 3g is not enough.
Cookie and Marshmallow are low in weight at 205 to 215g - they should not have their food limited.
If you reduce pellets you must increase hay and forage. Degus need 15g total food per day.
It is totally normal for degus to gain weight rapidly at this time of year, it is a natural response to shortening days for them to survive the winter, like a wild rodent. Degus who do this usually then lose the weight in spring.

Degus do not normally overeat. If food is freely available, they have no pressure to start eating as much as possible since they can just go to the bowl to get more when they want more. Unless there's something actually wrong with the animal, they stay within healthy weights even if you do not strictly reduce their food. I have food and hay freely available for all my degus, and all of them are lean and healthy.
As Molette says, at the very least hay should be freely available. Degus are are gut fermenters, which means that they need to have food constantly in their intestine for it to keep working. In the wild animals like this spend long amounts of time eating small amounts of food at once. If they only get limited amounts of food only at certain times of the day, instead of regulating their own eating, they can actually suffer real harm from this.

I think you got it wrong, 3g (which is now 3,5 for all except marshmallow and cookie get 4g) is once per meal, so total, they get 7-8g per day plus a lot of hay and some treats, some even struggle to eat dinner now.

If they only get limited amounts of food only at certain times of the day, instead of regulating their own eating, they can actually suffer real harm from this. I will, thank you for the info. Also, another issue pooped out yesterday, Sakura is not eating as much as she used to. She has been to the vet around three weeks ago, and her teeth were in perfect shape. She also eats a lot of hay. She used to eat the whole bowl and now she seems to eat almost half of the portion she gets. I bought a play pen for them to run around and i like to give them treats for the spins and jumps they do, I make sure I dont give too much. These treats are vegetables dried, and they are easily digestible and tasty, she ate those yesterday and was happy. But maybe she got too picky about the food? She has been eating this food for as long as I can remember, (theyre 2y.o rn) and she always loved them. Slowly, we are switching to oxbow food, since the vet told us so. So I make sure I introduce them slow and steady. I have been giving 0.5g out of the 3-3.5g and they love it, so im ordering a 4kg bag today. Any ideas of this sudden non interest in food?

Was it just a single time today that you noticed this, or has it been happening for a longer time? It's not that uncommon for a degu to not scarf down everything at once every time, in case they're full or feeling lazy. But if it's happening consistently, it might mean that she's feeling unwell (she might also be in heat, that often makes females ignore most of the food for a couple of days).
If this has started to happen after you started introducing the new food, it could be that the excitement of a new food just wore off and she's not in such a hurry to stuff her face with it. The most important thing is that she does not stop eating completely or anything like that. But if it looks like she's starting to eat less and less in general, and she starts to lose weight (this is the real indication of whether or not a degu is eating enough) and just keeps thinning down, then you should bring her to a vet in case something's wrong.
