It is the same cage, and I don't think it looks like a bad one. Though I would like to know why one exposure has all the weird pegs and such in it in the one set of photos, and why it is listed under two different names.
Have you had more conversation with him? I wonder if you could see it and the degus in person?

It could do with extra levels, its the area of the levels, not the volume of the cage, but there is room to put more levels in. To me, its a bit suspicious; he's advertised these twice, but with different degu ages and different account names. What do others think? deguconvert bouncy ?

Is Suffolk too far to travel? I've found quite a few ads for degus in Suffolk.

supposedly: christopher is his partner. "partner" was the word used. one has a tail an inch shorter than the rest, and they came to him and his partner like that.

apparently the ages are different because he got the degus before he entered into a relationship with his partner, and they did not realise they'd both listed the degus. @savvy thoughts?

At 7 months they are just beginning to enter adolescence so they will be fighting for control on the group. That is a given.
Did he say why he is selling?

Did he say why he is selling? the house they've moved into is too small and they don't have enough time. if it means anything, the pups have known one another since birth.

That means a lot, they're bonded, but they'll still fight in adolescence because degus do.
The decision has to be yours, but if you take them, I'd look at putting a couple of extra levels in the cage. At 7months they are not fully grown.
If you want to be really cheeky ask him if you can take the thickets cage to transport them, if so you'll have a time out cage should you need one.

I wonder if one of the sellers is more eager to be rid of them than the other? So that would be why one is giving you lots of info, and the other was not responding, hoping to keep them?

I wonder if one of the sellers is more eager to be rid of them than the other? that's so very possible omg i simply assumed the other one had forgotten all about his account i feel bad now

they'll still fight in adolescence because degus do. females too? now, this will sound astronomically petty, but i'd rather they be boys. why? i don't know enough about the human mind to answer that, especially since sometimes PET SHOPS can't tell boys from girls

The girls too! Adolescence lasts until they are about 18 months old.
Do you know how to tell the difference with degus? If you decide to go ahead, it wouldn't hurt to check when you collect.

If you decide to go ahead, it wouldn't hurt to check when you collect. surely if one or more was a girl, except for in the unlikely event where ALL had been missexed, she'd be preggers by now? when do gestating degus get heavy?

Gestation is 90 days, but they don't show many signs until the last few days of pregnancy, and some times the only sign is the pups themselves. Degus are very good a hiding pregnancies.
I recall one case on here when they'd been together quite a while before they realised that one was a girl, over a year I think.
It never hurts to check. But there is a very obvious sign with male degus, and if you are going to adopt males you will need to be aware of it, the can and do masturbate, and rarely make a secret of the act, lol!

that may have put me off males. I have no idea how I'd bring that up to my parents >_>
erm... would it be rude to say I'm no longer interested at this stage?
