Not the normal, cute Sausage pose, but I just watched him roll off the heatpad whilst trying to tidy himself up. Since last night, he's managed to get into this mess.  I've slathered the area in Vaseline, and I guess we're off to the goo doc tomorrow! |

Yes, prolapse, but then he was trying to rectify it, which inflamed it, THEN continued to run around on in the wheel. It's not clear on the photo, but it's a slight prolapse, swollen, then he's run and made the underside of the sheath raw. I slathered Vaseline on it a few times, but the first time he jumped straight into the feather box followed by a dustbath (think tar and feathered bum). Every subsequent time, he's just cleaned it off, so he's further inflamed it.
Still, we're off to the goo doc shortly. The receptionist was panicked, thinking she may need to get him seen immediately! I pointed out that, by the time I got ready and drove there, it would still be an hour.

Hope it went ok at the vets, it looks to me like there is a little chunk missing on the photo.

Sausage is having a couple of days in the hospital to have some intravenous antibiotics etc and a good clean and treatment. Some of the raw flesh on the sheath was starting to become necrotic. I've told them to give him the odd tummy raspberry, and he's likely going to have some sort of bandage or cone of shame to stop him interfering.
Snoozy is now giving me evils for taking his bud away, and Spud? He just wants his valet back!

From what I understand...
Tier 3 is equivalent to an almost full lockdown. No socialising with other households indoors or outdoors, pubs shut etc.
Tier 2 is no socialising with other households indoors, but can meet outside.
Tier 1 is no groups of more than 6 and pubs shut at 10.

Ok, goo doc says he's had a good night. They've been regularly cleaning and, as the inflammation goes down, his prolapse is sorting itself out. Because he's so friendly, he's had loads of cuddles from the nurses and should be home again tomorrow. I asked her to give him a tummy raspberry from me.
EDIT: PM update - still looking good, still adorable and cuddly!
