Degu males are absolutely amazing with pups and they provide a strong element of degu culture that makes a huge difference in the maturity and stability of the pups as they grow. A very important inclusion, and since you wouldn't have to worry about more pups, it's great that you will take full advantage of it if/when pups come!!

Plus he has three months to get used to the idea of being a parent, they will know she's expecting long before you do as most only show signs about a week before the pups are due.

You'll only have an issue if there are male pups, and that only from six weeks, so enjoy the happy families!!!

Brain has eaten more than he was so things are looking up. Btw here's a photo of our joeys sonic and knuckles

You been playing in the stationery cupboard? Our vet glues stitches and staples degu wounds to prevent the wound opening up. But they end up looking like they been stapled back together like Frankensteins monster on larger wounds

Sarahc . . . do you have the parents of the sugar gliders, or they have already be separated from their parents? Are their eyes open?

AHH GOOD! I was worried that you had picked them up from a pet store or a breeder and that they were separated way too early from their parents. They are beautiful!!

Brain doing great today had a couple of hours running around with me before and now back in a nice clean cage. I'm a little concerned about the length of his teeth because he's not a chewer do they put them under to take stitches out? I'm thinking if they do they could shorten his teeth at same time 🤔

Give him a couple of days of eating normal stuff - he'll likely sort them out for himself

The food and treats we thought brain was eating it turns out he's been hiding in his cottage so I've just put a few on a little plate with boiling water over to soften and he's just sat and munched the lot like he hadn't eaten in a long time. I'm thinking it's to do with his teeth like I've previously said I was worried about

That is worrying . . . if he isn't eating due to teeth issues, and after having just had surgery. He would need to be under anesthetic to have his teeth burred, and it sounds like he needs to have them looked at very soon.

Yeah I'm going to ask when he gets his stitches out if they can look at his teeth. I've just made more softened food for him and again he's eaten it all. Going to weigh him in a bit once he's had time to let it settle

Since he wants to eat, perhaps give him some more? He clearly is wanting them. Well done for finding a way to help him eat!
