Fingers crossed for him! He's bound to have been eating less after the surgery so hopefully it's just that and he'll bounce back quickly!

Poor little dude! I wonder if it's also because he's feeling a bit sorry for himself, and pining for the pinkies?

Absolutely! You've done nothing wrong! He's probably just being a bloke and feeling sorry for himself because he's not got the girls and has "manflu"

Just spoke to vets hes doing great eating little bit of solid food on his own and taking all the critical care himself off the syringe and we can pick him up later. So relieved

Hooray! Perhaps put him out of sight of the girls for a week? Might stop his pining?

He's at the top of the adventura cage seperated by chicken wire it seams so cruel because he still talks to them through the wire. He's never been as full of energy when on his own any way like when pinky was in hospital brain was really down and just slept. So I do think he gets lonely but it's only another 5 weeks until he gets to see his girls. But even that depends on weather sweeps is pregnant or not if she is he'll have to stay up there little longer.

Why would he have to stay up there a little longer if she is pregnant? In another five weeks he will be beyond impregnating again, and male degus are EXCELLENT fathers. Since he would be unable to produce more, why not let him help with the parenting?

Ok didn't know that thought the males ate the babies but if he'll make an excellent father we'll have him help out
