Not sure if this is the right place to post this, so feel free to move or delete if needed. One of my degus very unexpectedly passed at only about a year old. Blue, the remaining degu, was curled up in the nest beside her and I don't know what happened. I removed the dead degu and she hasn't stopped pacing and squeaking in search of her; I made sure she saw that her partner was gone, and there isn't anything more I can do! I have been looking for more degus ever since I got them, and could not find anymore. Now I have one sad, noisy degu with no way of calming her or getting another one. I don't know anyone who owns degus either. Is there anything I can do for her? Or should I just let her deal on her own?

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your little degu, both you and Blue must be missing her terribly.
Can you please tell us where you live as we may be able to help you find a friend for little Blue. Please take a look through our adoption thread and feel free to post on there for a degu friend.
In the meantime try putting a rolled up pair of socks in with her so she has something to cuddle up to, a warm heat pad such as a snugglesafe safe may help too. Apart from this, just give her as much attention as you can so she doesn't feel so alone. You both need to grieve and only time can help with that.

I am so sorry for your loss, and the great grief that Blue is suffering, Tabbster! I echo the advice from Savvycat.
