Garfs melting on the shelf beside Tibb's on his cool pack 😫 They are in the corner of the top floor that is the hottest in the house and even with the balcony open, there's no breeze. Dads just tiled his kitchen so I'm picking up some tiles from him tomorrow to place around the cages, just gotta give him some measurements. I went in the pound shop to get those clip on fans to circulate the air but they didn't have any. I feel so bad for them!

Mine are being sooooo cranky!
Poppy and Kev are arguing and Kev's running around like a lunatic like that's helping the situation. She sits next to the torn up tissue box, then he zooms into it and screams at her through all of the holes and tries to like nudge her with his face and she's just like "please, can you not?" And so then he runs around the whole cage zooming in through the hammocks and everywhere screaaaaaaamiiiiiiiiinnggggggg!!!!!
Pinky and Perky are lying down everywhere.
Pumba is hiding as usual. Pickles being her usual now very anti-human self.
My goo room is the second bedroom and is on the side of the house in a like alcove so there no breeze either despite having the windows wide open. It's boiling in there. So is my bedroom.
I'm gonna have to buy something this week.
I might freeze some water bottles and wrap them in something to stop them biting the plastic.
Would goos be really mad at being sprayed with mist?
Poor Garf!!! He's so done with this weather lol. He's like "Tibbs... I'm melting please.. send help, not the hooman tho, she tries to cuddle me.. is she crazy?!"

Hahahaha melted goo-ey piles every where lol.
Yeah when I try and touch Garf he squeals blue murder, runs off grinding his teeth and slumps down somewhere else - giving me a squinty beady look as if to say 'stay back hot blooded hooman!' In the winter they love our body heat - pff
I've just put the dyson cool link purifier up there for them and the dogs are raging!!! LOL they've been collapsed in front of it all day

I've avoided leaving the house all day and I've gotta go to Tesco now 😢
Er your dogs said they are extremely livid with the situation and the blatant favouritism 😂

Hardly seen my boys all day, they're seeking shelter in their tubes.
Managed to get the temp down to 24 after being at 27 when I got back from shopping. Just cleaned them out and given them fresh bedding. Bumblebee now chewing the bars, Dixie having a kip.

I've had the curtains and blinds at the front closed all day, with heat reflective lining, and the windows closed, because it was hotter out than in. The pups have stayed in their favourite place at the highest point of their cage (muppet). The big boys have spent a lot of the day in their basement, partly because it's the coolest part of the cage, and partly because I've been misting them. It's free range time right now, and Silly is making his feelings clear. Oh yeah, and it's still 30°c in this North facing room!

The goo room is all tiled so my youngsters are able to stay cool in this heat, they are still playing but Millie, Lula and Joey look like Garf....melting and very annoyed if I try to stroke them, don't blame them as my hands are so hot lol.

I treated ours to a 'frozen pea lolly' earlier, think they liked it! I took the whole drawer out of the freezer and just put the girls in it for about 5 minutes to cool down, think they appreciated that too. Now all three if them are 'ninja crawling' around the cage and randomly squeaking... Very weird! I suspect there is some kind of bug or fly in there with them that they are worried about!

Aw that sounds so cute misscatafer , a pea lolly and time out in the freezer lol. We opened the freezer door today funnily enough but Joey kind of shook and ran away from it, didn't appreciate the coolness! Our down stairs neighbours had a 4 hour argument from 12pm until 4pm. F'ing and blinding, I had a headache with them. Then went to the shop for some pop and their was road rage, meat heads getting out our their cars to swear and threaten each other. The heat is sending people do-lally!

I love the pea lolly! I give the gerbils frozen peas or sweetcorn in this weather. Funnily enough, mine don't mind the cool surface of the floor, but avoid the chilled tiles I put in the fridge. Perhaps they cool the air enough!

Looking for the cheapest ice pods I can find. For two including delivery - I've got it down to just over £15.. not bad but now I've come across the 'chin-chiller' cooling tiles which are essentially blocks of cut granite but they've got good reviews.
I think I'll stick with an ice pod and pop a thin tile on top of it?

Yep, save your pennies! DIY shops like Homebase and B&Q let you buy single tiles, so it's probably cheaper getting it there.

Just pulled out the cupboard under the stairs and found some marble and slate tiles so ripped out the sweaty hemp on the lower levels and replaced with these I
