Weighed Sherlock and Watson the other day and they've lost 20g and 10g respectively over a couple of weeks. So I'm just wondering - since neither of them seem underweight and both are eating fine - is anyone else noticing spring weightloss? If so then how much so far? I'm just being extra cautious with weight maintenance with Sherlock's dental issues. The other gruesome twosome aren't much use to go off as they were still at their mourning weight last time I weighed them.

5g off Poppy, she's also sleeping a LOT. I don't know if it's due to the change of season or what, or if because she's sleeping in that bed I see her sleep more, rather than her disappear into the tube. She's obsessed with the bed.
Kev has lost a lot of weight due to surgery, but is now around 160g.. he was 220g before op. He's not bony though, eating and exercising lots. Seems to be maintaining this weight, looks like a different degu. Maybe it's the improved diet?
Pickle is just Pickle and is tiny anyway so I don't think her weight is gonna be of help to anyone or any records lol.
Pinky and Perky have lost 5g each too approximately (using non digital scales so).

Mine have lost a couple of grammes. emily I'm a bit concerned about so much weight loss in Kev, he's below what would normally be a healthy level at 160g, I think you need to be looking for some steady weight gain back over 200g.

moletteuk he's definitely slowly gaining weight, I can tell just by feeling him, as post op after a few days I could feel every bone in his body. I can't feel any now really, nothing sharp. He did not have a wheel at Pets at Home for months and was fed just p@h nuggets. I'm considering maybe he wasn't as old as we thought, and perhaps fat instead. I will weigh him when I've moved as the scales are packed now. I've also been using non digital scales, the 220g was from digital scales so my scales could be way off. I'll get digital ones when I can. What about Pickle? Could her size be due to being so white? She literally hasn't grown barely at all. She still fits in the palm of my hand and I can just scoop her up super easily in one hand, plus she's as light as a feather. She's happy and "healthy" though. Eats like a trooper.

OK, that's less worrying if he is steadily gaining.
I don't think we really have enough data to say for sure that patched degus, or extra white patched degus are smaller and lighter yet, but I would't be surprised.

Pickles the size of a 3 month old degu approximately, when she's at least 8 months old.

I have an agouti and a champagne banded. Dixie the agouti is visibly larger than Bumblebee, just going by the skull size, Dixie's is about a third larger. So I'd expect him to be heavier.
I think it is just down to them being so interbred.

Yeah that was my thoughts, especially considering Pickle is SO white. Whereas Poppy is considerably less white and more agouti sized (though still rather slender in comparison).
