Hi everyone,
I hope you're all doing well. I'm having an issue with little Ron and I'm hoping it's not a serious one. In part of the area surrounding the base of his penis there's a thick white discharge coming out plus he has some bumps down there. I gently squeezed out the discharge the other day and wiped down the area with distilled water. Then this morning, I checked and there was the same thick white discharge again. Has anyone seen anything like this before? I already have an appointment booked for him tomorrow. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you, Jen

I haven't seen anything like this but I think it could be an infection - though, really not sure what the bumps are. Is he in any pain/discomfort? Wishing little Ron all the best at the vet tomorrow. Please let us know what the vet says.

yasminHe doesn't seem to be in any pain or discomfort. He still acts his crazy goofy self and he's eating and drinking just fine. I did check his private area tonight and it seems to be more of a runny almost clear discharge so hopefully this is a good sign. I'll let you know what the vet says.

Could he have a hair caught that is getting infected? Maybe get the vet to check for anything like that

Good idea, Bexi, make sure the vet pushes the penis right out to check for hair caught around it right at the base.

Thanks again everyone.
Well Ron is a girl...when I got him...err her and Harry (RIP little one) almost four years, the family told me they were boys and I just took their word for it. Yah, so... Anyway, it's an infection and I hope there's nothing more serious happening inside, hopefully it's something it can be cleared up with antibiotics. He felt her little belly but couldn't find any lumps or bumps. So now that we know this is a girl, does anyone have new advice to offer?

If you get a cage companion for her, make sure you get a female to partner with her.

If it's a uterine infection they can be quite difficult to completely shift. Keep monitoring it. It may need lengthy antibiotics or trying different antibiotics depending on how she responds.

You'll have to call her Roni now then jennyjoy lol. Another example of never trusting what you are told regarding gender!
