I noticed on Poppy today that the fur surrounding her lady parts isn't wet, but it's matter kinda? Is it just from like weeing whilst squatting and then sort of her fur dangling in it? All clean down there and no runny poos etc. Just wanted to check it's all normal as my other girls I don't think have the same issue. ☺
I think it may be due to Poppy having pretty long and thick fur, is there anything I can do to help? I don't want it to become really matted.

I noticed that when I held her, but just thought she had a dirty bum. If everything else is normal, I'd put it down to poor grooming. Her fur is noticeably long (seriously, she's like a long haired breed!!), and she doesn't get any help from other goos at the moment. You could try wiping her bum every so often to help her (just water), but I think she might get narked with you, dragging her bum across the cardboard to dry off lol

Poor Poppy nothing goes well for her lol! 😂 I might just keep an eye on it and if it starts getting quite matted I might use some nail scissors and cut the fur around there that's matting short? So it's not gonna bother her? x

Just keep an eye out for any redness or pinkness on the skin in case the urine hanging around damages the skin.

Just this morning, whilst driving my son to school through a new fall of snow (must be 8 inches now?), I saw a large man, at least 6'4" with a massive tangle of dreadlocks all the way down to his bum! I couldn't help but wonder how heavy they must be, LOL!

I had a persian cat once that we had to cut the fur around her bum because she'd get... Dingle berries xD so to prevent discomfort (there basically was just too much fur there for her to clean) we decided to give her a bum trim every few weeks, as her weekly bath was not enough to keep her dingle free... Also, people seemingly got very upset with us for giving her a weekly bath, and for trimming her bum. Apparently it was unnatural for cats to get washed and trimmed. But with any long haired animal, you have to keep the hair healthy and clean... Silly people Anyway, you could give her a brazilian xD see if slightly shorter fur around the cone will help her keep better hygiene?

Would love to hear how you'd explain to A&E that your injuries were caused by a degu you'd just given a Brazilian to. Lol.

Aww bless I hope her matts have improved. Have you thought of maybe some battery operated clippers. Wahl do some really small ones. Oh maybe some of those eyebrow ones you can get. Maybe better than nail scissors. We have to clip our Maine coons butt hair because at times he gets klingons which he likes to try and remove by scooting his butt along the floor 🙈🙈🙈

Lol! This thread is making me laugh! Yeah Poppy will bite if she's super scared (happened once after she'd been attacked 😩) so I think I may end up at A&E if I got some noisy clippers out and aimed them for her nether region! 😂 I can just imagine her eyes bulging and her trying to wriggle her way out of my hand squeaking "noooo not my lady garden!" LOL! charliekhris dingle berries made me laugh sooo much! Poor kitty haha! My boyfriends family had a long haired cat like that too and we'd end up clipping her whole body because she hated the dogs and would never come in the house. Sometimes they couldn't catch her for months (she was feral to begin with) and so we'd eventually catch her and she'd look like a rhino, so that was her name lol. @jolil klingons!! I'm loving the nicknames for these! Poor cats haha!

Learning a whole new vocabulary here And I just want to confirm to any readers that members here are talking about trimming hair, not waxing!
