As you may know I been having problems with a fractured pipe in my home. During the night it appears to have gotten worse to the point that I now need to start using bottled water until it can be fixed. Currently the water is a very off putting yellowy brown colour.
My question is, is bottled water safe for degus? As I'm going to be needing it for cooking, washing etc it will have to be the cheapest I can get unless I can get the landlord to agree to fix the problem sooner than 6th February.

I can't see why not, but double check the mineral content of what's on offer compared to normal tap water, just in case!

Cheap bottled water is just tap water. If you want to be cautious with it, keep it in the fridge after the bottle has been opened and is not sterile any more. But you will probably be using a fair bit each day, so I don't imagine an opened bottled will sit for several days anyway, so you probably won't need to refridgerate.
HOpe you can get fixed up soon!

Regular bottled water should be fine. (Do not use distilled water, though.) I agree, refrigerate any opened bottle.
