Lofty took a fall this morning and broke one of her front legs. She was rushed to the vet who sedated her and pulled it straight and she's managed to put a teeny tiny cast on it!! It's so sweet (can't do pics from my phone) and she said to leave it on for as long as she does eg, until it's chewed. She's on metacam for a week and hopefully by then it should have pretty much sorted itself out. She's working out how to get around and eat atm, not easy with one hand, lol. Poor little sausage.

Poor little love!! That must have just made you feel ill. I was terrified that I was going to read that the vet said there was nothing they could do. SO RELIEVED that is not the case. I am glad she is safely treated and that she should have a quick and good recovery. Well done, Uglibug!!

It was horrible. We actually heard the snap as she went down, and the squeak was deafening. Poor little mite must have got quite a shock. Just glad we've got an adventurous vet willing to try these things, it could have been a really sad ending.

So, has the cast survived the first 24hrs?

It has survived. Looking a little bit chewed on the end but still in one piece, lol. Just hoping it lasts a few days so it starts to heal, apparently they heal really quickly so it only needs a couple of days to get started and it should be fine.
