There's only two, the treat mix and daily seed. I'd personally get a 1 or 2kg bag of the daily mix and a 500g bag of treat mix

Congratulations on your first day! I hope it went really well! They will be OK, love. Right now they are probably still recovering somewhat from their time with the vet. It can take several days before they begin to be themselves again. Sometimes there is a little time of needing to reinforce our bond with them, but you've got that, you'll fine!

I'm a full time university student, I commute a fair way. I'm also a nail technician! So I have to work lots at random times, pretty stressful trying to make enough money sometimes. I had to quit my bar job as my boss sexually assaulted me. 👍🏻
I used to be a commis chef which I loved but I had to leave because I moved out. I worked 16-18 hour days then.

I'm out of the house from 7.30am to about 6.30-7pm Monday to Friday. I'm usually out for a good few hours on a Saturday too (football, doing jobs around the house etc) Congratulations on the new job - your girls will settle into their new routine just fine maybe you can give them little puzzles to do during the day? Like hiding treats around their cage, stuffing toilet rolls with hay and a few seeds etc?

Toilet roll provides hours of fun for my degus. I fix a full roll somewhere and they unravel it and spend hours dragging it around the cage.
Your girls will get used to your routine as you do. I'm studying for a BA in Philosophy. I'm 20, and I have 4 degus, 3 axolotls and 2 fancy goldfish lol. So I have my hands full on cleaning day and feeding everyone!
I think working with people in that environment really shows what kind of person you are, and I think it should be a pretty rewarding job, even if it is tiring x

Thanks guys, this has really helped with leaving them for long hours, just wondering if they think I've left them and never coming back or where I've gone, but the money I make will be saved to support my goos etc vet bills, food, toys etc , my goos are coco, hazel, snowball fudge but I call her fudgey.also scared of losing bond cos of it.. I always let them out for a play even when I'm really sleepy and try and hang with them, even tho they just like to explore..

If it makes you feel any better, I'm pretty sure mine couldn't give two hoots if I'm gone as long as they get fed and watered the only reason they get slightly excited is because they usually get a treat when I return as a hello and then they promptly go back to ignoring me. I'm doing a lab-based PhD so my hours vary a lot, I'm pretty much in when I have to be, which is usually 10-4 at the very least but at this moment in time is all the time as I have (literally) thousands of colonies of cells to look after at the moment and hundreds of samples to analyse before Christmas.
