All male One was 2 - nearly 3 years old - post-op infection in jaw One 4 3/4 years old - cause unknown One 5 1/2 - cause respiratory issues/possible heart failure One estimated 11/12 - put to sleep due to severe arthritis

Oscar - 4 years old, sudden death, unknown reason but he was the runt of the litter
Lance and toto - 6 years old, sudden death, unknown again. They died within 12 hours between eachother.

Chitter was 6, Chester was almost 7. Both male.

I have a lot of them : 8 years – Lilac (1) 6 years – Sean (1) 4 years – Azure, Go, Roku, Meiyo, Gi, Yuu (6) 3 years - Chuugi (1) A day or two old – San (1) Stillborn premature – Azure had 4 pups born hairless/dead Causes of death (well, for all but one, euthanasia actually killed them but that aside) include complications due to spurs and overgrown molar roots, temporal mandibular joint dysfunction/damage, abdominal tumour, gastric torsion, heart failure, and unknown.

Wow mater!! I'm lucky to only have to euthanize one so far was Herc at 5 and 1/2 years (put at 5 because it wasn't quite to the 6 month mark yet)
mine still living are Einstein (5 1/2), Aslan (4 I think? oops I forgot how long I have had him), and Darwin (around 2 years - not completely sure)

mine are 12 years old and had them for about 9 years now so got them when they were 3. still doing exercise and eating so this happened to anyone else?

We have had a member with a 13 year old degu . . . haven't heard from them in a while though. 12 years, huh? That is AWESOME!! What do you feed them, Degu lover? Can we see pictures of your degus?

Squish just under 2 hrs old suspected lung or brain tumour. Was have choking fits at the slightest bit of stress. Was kinder to let him go😓
